For more than five decades, Carvin Winans has stood as one of the most influential voices in gospel and contemporary inspirational music. A singer, songwriter, producer, and industry pioneer, his music has shaped generations while remaining rooted in a powerful message of faith, hope, and spiritual transformation.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Carvin began singing at the age of four, following in the footsteps of his parents, both gifted vocalists whose passion for music helped shape the extraordinary talent within their family. The third of ten siblings and a twin, Carvin quickly distinguished himself as a gifted vocalist and songwriter, channeling his deep love for God into music that would resonate with audiences around the world. Today, he has been happily married to his soulmate, Chérie Winans, and they have been together for over 22 years. He is also a proud and devoted father to six incredible children (Carvin Jr., Juan, Deborah Joy, Ian, Shanniah, and Laylah) and a loving grandfather to five beautiful grandchildren.

Carvin made his professional debut in 1974 as a member of the Testimonial Singers alongside Howard Smith and his brothers Ronald and Marvin. Their album Love Covers marked the beginning of what would become an extraordinary career in music.
